Lay summary

This study aims to explore the link between daily physical activities and well-being, and how it can help prevent physical and mental health issues. Past research has focused on how physical activities can impact mental illnesses like anxiety and depression, but not much has been done to understand their effect on overall mental well-being. We want to fill this gap by studying the relationship between mental well-being and everyday physical activities, such as the number of steps taken daily.

Our study will span 30 months. In the first 6 months, we'll focus on establishing a clear connection between physical activities and mental well-being. The following 6 months will be spent on examining how well physical activities can predict one's well-being. We'll then take another 6 months to write and submit our findings in an academic paper and anticipate spending the final 12 months making revisions.

Through this research, we hope to deepen the understanding of the relationship between mental well-being and physical activity. Our findings could potentially support the idea that daily physical activities are beneficial for public health.
